Overview of The Game
‘Starlo Fishing Forever Australia’ is an innovative new fishing board game which is not only fun, but educational. It was invented and developed by a concerned Aussie family of fishos, hoping to make a difference in the fight to protect our natural resources and environment.
The game uses a combination of strategy and luck allowing everyone in the family a chance of winning. Welcome to the first true blue aussie fishing board game.
The aim of the game is to travel around Australia and catch 14 of the country’s iconic fish, while negotiating the trials and tribulations encountered during the REAL thing.
This is the only way to catch fish out of water!
Just like ‘real fishing’ you firstly need to get a bite and this is achieved by landing on one of the 14 fish. Now the anticipation of catching the fish is upon you, and you must immediately roll both the game and the fish dice together to determine whether you’ve caught it and what size it is.
Your joy of landing on the fish may very well be short lived. On the back of the Fish Species Cards, Steve ‘Starlo’ Starling will teach you all about each fish, common names, maximum size, conservation satus, range, life cycle, physical description, diet, habitats, rigs & techniques, preferred tackle, lines & leaders and eating qualities.
The game ends when a player has caught all 14 fish species, but the winner will be the player who has won the most Fish Points.
This is achieved by catching the most as well as the biggest fish. Along the way you you will need to accumulate the rewards and bonuses of the ‘Good On You’ cards, while avoiding the pitfalls and penalties littered throughout the board and within the ‘That’s Life’ cards.
The beauty of this game is that it can be played anytime and has none of the constraints which regularly plague fishing trips such as being too windy, it’s raining, wrong moon or bad tides. Using a combination of strategy and luck, it gives everyone the chance of winning. This is a true family game the whole family can enjoy.
